The 911 GT3 RS takes inspiration from motorsports, specifically its brother the 911 GT3 R. It has a 4.0-litre high-revving naturally aspirated engine with racing DNA and lightweight construction.

Instead of the three-radiator layout seen in previous cars, the GT3 RS has a large angled centre radiator in the nose of the car which has provided a significant performance boost – this idea was first used in the Le Mans class-winning 911 RSR and later in the 911 GT3 R. The central radiator freed up space on the sides to integrate active aerodynamic elements. Adjustable wing elements in the front and the two-part rear wing provide 409 kg of total downforce at 200km/h.

A drag reduction system or DRS is fitted to a production Porsche for the first time. To achieve low drag and high speed on the straights DRS allows the wings to be flattened out at the push of a button, within a specific operating range.

The GT3 RS is finished in typical RS style; black leather, Racetex and carbon-weave finish. The motorsport-oriented steering wheel offers more diverse setting options: from DRIVE MODE and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) to Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) and Traction Control (TC).

The Clubsport package which is at no extra cost includes a steel rollover bar, hand-held fire extinguisher and six-point seat belts for the driver.  The full bucket seats are made of carbon fibre reinforced plastic with a carbon-weave finish and integrated thorax airbag offering good lateral support with minimal weight.
